Message from the Secretary
As many of you know, I am always on the lookout for new and unique recipes to present to the club. Recently I was given this recipe by a member who shall remain nameless until he brings me the main ingredient...Elephant Stew
1 African or Asian Elephant (which ever one is in season, medium size, tusks removed)
Brown Gravy (Watkins Beef Soup & Gravy Base)
Sea Salt & Pepper
Two Rabbits (optional)
Cut elephant into small bite sized pieces. This should take only about two months. Add enough gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene fire for about four weeks at 465 degrees. Makes about 3,800 servings. To extend it, add rabbits, but do this only if necessary, as most people do not like to find hare in their stew.
If you have a better recipe or a story to share, please call me at 781-424-1800 or email me at my new email address: crgcsecretary@yahoo.com.

Archery News
Well the first Bay State 3-D Shoot is history. The outcome was a little disappointing due to the low turnout of participants. Only 50 shooters appeared and a good many came after registration had closed but because of the low attendance the deadline was extended a bit to take advantage of the situation.
The bottom line is we managed to turn a slight profit of $437.00. This profit can be a result of the fine work that the kitchen crew did for both breakfast and lunch. As one familiar with 3-D events would know these shoots can be either boon or bust and the kitchen made up for the low turnout. Hopefully the August shoot will be better.
Another good happening was the fact that two out of three drawings were won by Concord R & G and Bay State members. Congratulations to Mev Barton and Steve Tottingham who each won a cash prize.
I would like to thank those who worked with me and without whose help this event would not have happened:
James O'Donnell, Artty Kinsman Charlie Anderson, Tim Kilroy, Brad Stetson, Eileen Facenda Corinne Kinsman Mev Barton Rich Gagnon, Mike Barton, Don Dupuis, Fred Skerry , Charlie Atherton, Steve Tottingham

TRAP NEWS
Activity on the trap field is warming up - not unlike the weather. Much work has been done to spruce up and improve our facilities. We have replaced the roof on the house holding the trap machine, replaced the roof on the trap cabin, as well as many worn and decayed decking and siding boards. A fresh coat of stain has been applied to the buildings, and thanks to new member, Doug Macone, substantial landscaping has been done on the grounds.
Appreciation goes out to Jim Gallagher, Artty Kinsman, Bruce Harvey, Bob Costigan, Charlie Atherton, Joe Mettee, Carl Repucci, Mike Barton, Dick Bregoli, Tom Damkowitch, and Warren Soar who offered their labor and tools to complete the above tasks (I apologize if I've missed anyone).
There are still a few minor jobs to be done out there, so if anyone has some time, we can find a way for you to help out.
The Clubs' two trap teams are in full swing in their respective divisions. Shoots are on Tuesday evenings for the C Team and Wednesday evenings for the AA team. I will try to post information regarding the teams' progress as the season goes along.
Remember that Sunday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM are open shooting hours at the range, and all are welcome to come out and try their skill at disturbing the flight of those highly breakable round orange disks. Committee members are reminded to check the duty schedule to be sure that the range is staffed for the Sunday hours.

Pond News
The rowboats and canoes located down by the dock are for use by club members and their guests. The law requires that a flotation device (life jacket) be worn when boating. There are children and adult size jackets stored in the lower level of the club on a rack near the paddles and oars.
If the particular boat or canoe you wish to use is chained, the keys are located n the wall behind the bar.
Please remember to put them back when you are finished.
If you have any questions about the pond, Warren Soar, the Pond Chairman may be reached at the club or by phone at 978-897-7827.
