GET WELL WISHES We send our best wishes to Marge Stetson for a quick recovery after her recent surgery. WITH SYMPATHY Our sincere condolences to the family of Joseph Bartolomeo who recently passed away. He was a lifetime member, Vin Bartolomeo’s uncle and brother of Angelo “Bing” Bartolomeo, Vin’s father. Sincere condolences to the family of lifetime member Robert Baum who passed away in February. Sincere condolences to Mark and Peter Dalliare whose father recently passed away.. Our thoughts are MASSACHUSETTS JUNIOR CONSERVATION CAMP: I am very sorry to report that Jr. Conservation Camp has been cancelled for this year. The Department of Fisheries and Wildlife could not find a place to hold it. They are currently working on a place for next year and feel confident they will be able to continue with camp in 2003. TRAP NEWS: Come up on Sundays to practice from 1 – 4 p.m. All shooters, whether seasoned or novice, are welcome to come and enjoy an afternoon of shooting at the Club. WILD BOAR HUNT: Once again this year a group of members will be making a trip to Hillside Guide Service in Aurora, Maine for a weekend wild boar hunt. This will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of July. Anyone interested can contact either Vin Bartolomeo at 978-369-2428 or Dick Bregoli at 978-256-2715 for further details. MEMBER’S FISHING DAY BREAKFAST: Roger Doherty served over thirty meals. It was the best deal in town. Thanks Roger for your help in feeding a bunch of hungry fishermen (and women). Roger thanks the crew of volunteers who helped him out – Corinne Kinsman, Marge Stetson and Joe Facenda. MEMBER’S FISHING DAY: Even though the fishing was very slow it was still a lot of fun. One member, who I shall not name, is now known as the “Perch Master”. He kept catching them, and catching them. KID’S FISHING DAY: The weather was cold and rainy. 80 Kids registered and gave it their all. Even though only 37 of them were able to catch a trout everyone seemed to be having a good time. The pictures from the day are posted on our web site along with the names of the winners. Thanks to all who helped to make the day enjoyable. We had a great crew of volunteers. Thanks to the kitchen crew, the fish measurers, the registration crew and everyone who helped the kids learn how to fish. Thanks also to those who helped with the T-shirts, trophies and, of course, ordering the fish. It was a combined effort and you could truly see that in how successful the day went regardless of the terrible weather. What a fun time! Ask the kid’s who attended. IRON MAN: The 6th Annual “Iron Man” Competition will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 1-6 p.m. Members and guests are welcome to compete in four events – 3D Archery, Trap, Pistol and Casting. Of course we will be having a fantastic dinner for all competitors. Cost is only $20/competitor and includes the competition, all ammunition and dinner. If you would like to just join us for the dinner the cost is $10/dinner. Reservations are required! For more information see the sign-up sheet in the clubhouse or call Jim Jackman @978-263-8029 or e-mail james.jackman@verizon.net. ARCHERY: Our next 3-D shoot will be on June 23rd. Set up is on June 22nd. Watch the club bulletin board for a sign up sheet or contact Jim Jackman if you can help out. COUNCIL ON AGING LUNCHEON: The Club will sponsor a luncheon on May 29th for the Concord Council on Aging. If you are a club senior and would like to attend please contact Marge Stetson. PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP: Vin Bartolomeo was the winner of the Club 22 caliber pistol championship. Congratulations Vin! POND: There are still a lot of trout out there. Do you know the Pond Rules. They are posted at the club and on our web site. SUMMER OUTING UPDATE; Del Ferranti would like to hear from you if you can volunteer to help out this year. The outing will be on Saturday, July 20th with a rain date of July 21st. A few members have come forward to help plan some kid’s events. As in the past, there will be trap, archery, turkey shoot and canoe races. RAFFLE: This year we have brought back our annual raffle. Raffle tickets are enclosed with this newsletter. This is a fund raiser for the club. Your support is needed. Please try to sell some tickets and buy some yourself. We have some great money prizes. $500, $250, $100 and two $50 prizes. Do your best! The Club is counting on you.

Inc. CAKE WALK: Everyone participates in the cake walk at the outing. The kid’s love it. Last year we ran out of cakes. Please volunteer to bake or buy a cake or cookies to use as prizes. Corinne Kinsman has once again offered to run this event. Contact her to let her know how many cakes you can bring. Don’t wait until July, give her a call now at 978-369-1379. KID’S EVENTS: This year a few members have volunteered to have some new events for the kids. This is still in the planning stages. We are working on some crafts workshops and face painting. If you have any new ideas that you think might be fun for the kids give Eileen Facenda a call at 781-899-7824. SPECIAL RAFFLE: Del Ferranti is just back from turkey hunting in Pennsylvania. He was able to get the outfitter to donate a 5 day father/son archery hunt for deer October 13-17, 2003. This includes room, board and guide. He will raffle it off at the outing, selling only 52 chances. NEW MEMBERS: The summer outing is a great time to put in some of your work hours. It will give you a chance to meet the members and enjoy the club with your family. Give Del Ferranti a call if you can help out.
