Hello Everyone,

Well the Family Outing is over, and the day was a success!

We had more children up to the Event than adults, and boy were the children busy.  All the Events went terrifically, and each Event had plenty of help.  Sal Demarco's Band was very entertaining, and played until the rain drove them out!

There were so many workers at the Outing, and I will try to mention them all, but if I leave your name out....Forgive me.

Firstly...I would like to thank all the Chairman of the Club, They ALL were at the Outing, and did a fantastic job organizing each of there areas!

I know I am forgetting someone, and if I did, thank you!

All of you that did not make it to the Outing, you missed a GREAT TIME, and I hope you and your families can make it to our next Event.

Thanks,

Mike Barton, VP

Archery Report - Joe Facenda Chairman

As you probably already have heard the Archery Clinic held on June 1st was a success in spite of the monsoon type rain. The kids popped balloons indoors until there were no balloons left. Some really brave souls went outside to shoot the practice butts and the menagerie erected down in the parking lot. The kids really had fun and some of the parents who attended, thought it so much fun, have decided to join the club as members. Thanks go out to all that helped.

The practice butts have been rebuilt and some of the McKenzie targets have been replaced in front of the tree stand. The walk thru course of excelsior bails has been replaced with carpet targets. It was an interesting experience to see what type of critters had taken residence in those bails over the last 20 years.

The replacement of some of the A frames is the current project taken on by Jim O'Donnell, Frank Gill, Del Ferranti and myself. I'm glad to report that phase of upkeep has been completed. The entire walk thru course can be used and there is a combination of McKenzie, burlap and bulls-eye targets throughout.

The Members Outing was another success (not yet known if it was monetarily successful) not only for the club but the archery area in particular. There seemed to be good balances of help to shooters making the day go by pretty smoothly. Again it appears that balloons have some magic spell over the kids, some kids shot so much I thought they were part of the set-up. Everyone won prize tickets and probably had something to do with the attraction. The aerial target shoot was a new wrinkle for this year and looks like it will be back in the future.

Beside the three people already mentioned I would like to thank Mike Barton, Rich Gagnon, Steve Tottingham, Bruce Harvey, Robert Alpert and Adam Nichols for their help in one or more of the above archery happenings. (If I have overlooked anyone please accept my apologies.)

The last topic of interest is our Traditional Shoot to be held August 10th. This is our first attempt at hosting such an event and I for one am really interested how it will do. It is early in the planning stages but as always help will be needed to insure its success. Even if you are not a traditional archer we can use your help. It may allow a traditional archer to shoot if they have you to stand in for them.

Work parties for this event are planned as follows:

Thursday, August 7th starting at 5 p.m.
Friday, August 8th, 7 a.m. - noon
Saturday, August 9th, 7 a.m. - noon

Sunday, August 10th 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. TRADITIONAL 3D SHOOT

If you can help out in any way please contact Joe Facenda at 781-899-7824 or facenda@earthlink.net.
