Note from the Secretary

This newsletter will update you on the final plans for the Summer Outing. This is the biggest family event of the year for the Club and we look forward to seeing you there. It’s a great time to show your family what a great club you belong to.

If you have anything of interest for the newsletter contact Eileen Facenda by the first Tuesday of the month at facenda@earthlink.net

TRAP NEWS: League update: The Double A Team has 6 wins and 6 losses – The D Team has 8 wins and 4 losses. Trap will be open for the Outing. Come up and give it a try.

ARCHERY: The archery range will be open for the Outing. The kid’s really enjoy archery. The range has been redone and we have a few members who have volunteered to help out. They will have animal targets and balloons set up. It’s a great time to see what a fun sport this is.

PISTOL: The pistol range will be open for the Outing. If you can volunteer to run the range for a half hour or so please contact Del Ferranti. We do need a few volunteers.

WILD BOAR HUNT: Once again this year a group of members will be making a trip to Hillside Guide Service in Aurora, Maine for a weekend wild boar hunt. This will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of July. Anyone interested can contact either Vin Bartolomeo at 978-369-2428 or Dick Bregoli at 978-256-2715 for further details.

GROUNDS: Please help clean up the grounds for the Summer Outing. Bill Lewis would like some help with raking, mowing and general clean up. Between now and July 20th do what you can to have the club looking fantastic for the outing. If anyone has a flag they could donate to the club contact Bill Lewis or Charlie Anderson.

WEB SITE: What a big difference in getting the newsletter out last month. Having over 100 members willing to read the newsletter on the internet saved me over an hour of work time. If you haven’t sent us your e-mail address, please do so. You will get the newsletter faster and it saves me time and the club money.

SUMMER OUTING UPDATE CAKE WALK: The more cakes we have the more fun this event is. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to bake a cake. If you haven’t volunteered yet, please contact Corinne Kinsman as soon as possible to let her know how many cakes you can bring. You can reach her at 978-369-1379.

KID’S EVENTS: The craft workshops planned for this year should be a lot of fun. The kids will be making hats and birdfeeders along with a couple of other surprises. We hope to have a parade so the kids can show off their beautiful and original hat creations. There will be a scavenger hunt, a moonwalk, and face painting. It will be a fun time.

SPECIAL RAFFLE: As I mentioned last month, Del Ferranti was able to get an outfitter in Pennsylvania to donate a 5 day father/son archery hunt for deer October 13-17, 2003. This includes room, board and guide. He will raffle it off at the outing, selling only 52 chances.

CANOE RACES: Don’t forget about our traditional canoe races. Jim Jackman has volunteered to organize this event. Come up and sign up. It’s a lot of laughs!!!

PIE EATING CONTEST: Del Ferranti is planning a pie eating contest for the kid’s. We should get some great photos for our web site with this one.

MUSIC: This year we will have a live band for a good part of the day. We thank those members who made this possible.

FOOD: We will be serving lobsters, hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausages with peppers and onions, french fries, and corn.

RAFFLE: The Club is counting on your support to make the raffle a success. It’s not hard to sell a couple of books of tickets. Take them to work, sell them to friends and buy them yourself. Everybody likes to win money.

Please mail your checks along with the name/address portion of the tickets to:

Concord Rod and Gun Club Inc.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS : When you arrive at the Club you should check the schedule of events board that will be posted. It will give you the times of different events. You will be able to plan your day so that you don’t miss out on anything.

COME UP AND ENJOY WHAT YOUR CLUB HAS TO OFFER WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU
